Happy Tuesday, Happy Lunar New Year, Happy Pancake Day! With some sunshine in London, flowers from Valentine’s Day in front of me, a belly full of pancakes and the energy of the Fire Horse year ahead, things feel good! It’s always nice to have something to celebrate, especially in February..

About 15 years ago my mum very sweetly made me a recipe book when I went to university and it has our beloved family pancake recipes (savoury for main, sweet for pud). Here they are incase you need (complete with Word Art on the cover) -

Butter & sugar is so underrated

1. Ideas for a linen, pastel dress for a summer wedding in Cape Town

I’ve genuinely spent about half an hour trawling the internet and honestly, the yellow dress I designed with Monsoon for a collection last year is my top top pick!! This is exactly the sort of event I designed it for. It’s 50% off now and if your size is sold out perhaps you could get it altered?! Failing that, this blue one is cute.

I'd wear the yellow I designed, or otherwise the blue

2. What are you currently reading / watching?

Reading:

  • The Correspondent - The most charming novel told entirely through letters and emails. It follows a sharp, slightly prickly older woman as her life – and those orbiting it – unfold. I love a book with a unique format and this one is completely addictive. With letters and emails of varying lengths where you’re never quite sure who’s writing to whom next. Last night I read a part where she’s reading Wuthering Heights - quite fitting!

Watching:

  • The Night Manager - I just finished the second season (having conveniently only watched the first last year) and whilst it was suitably ridiculous, it was so enjoyable and did have me on the edge of my seat. It’s a spy drama and this series was set in Colombia, which provided so much delicious scenery

  • Marty Supreme - I bought this on Prime to watch on Valentine’s as we couldn’t make it to the cinema to see it and we’re half way through and loving it. We’re in the era of our lives where we’re watching films like TV series over a few nights. Everyone talks about the fast pace of the film and I have to say.. as someone who listens to a lot of things on 2 x speed have I finally found something that matches the pace of my brain?!

I’m seeing Wuthering Heights this week and then I must watch Bridgerton, Tell Me Lies and Heated Rivalry (I know, I know)

3. Please can you recommend some good breastfeeding friendly tops, apart from the clip vest ones?

This organic cotton tank looks so good if you want something strictly bf-friendly. Loose button down shirts are also great - this style or any from WNU would be my go-tos. I have a few of these Posse pieces that I’ve accrued over the years and wore almost everyday on holiday!

At home I always wear this stretchy racer tank (I have a few on rotation!) and just pull the armhole to my middle to access my boob (sorry, feel like I have said this before), then a cardigan on top. I also didn’t like bf-specific bras so I just wear stretchy Stripe & Stare bralettes (I live in this one).

4. What trainers to buy right now?

Can you sense a theme? I have the pair on the right and keep getting asked about them! 1, 2, 3

5. Have you started your baby on solids? Any favourite bibs, bowls or plates?

We’re just about to start and I’m using V&Me’s weaning kit, which is genius and feels like the biggest weight lifted..! It’s five weeks of prepped weaning food for £200 (not cheap, but not crazy). It does all the hard work for you of introducing all different foods, allergens, proteins and textures so you can just focus on the feeding. I’m so grateful to have discovered it from my friend Momina.

Too girly for Cosmo?

We’ve got a Tripp Trapp and I’ve bought the tray, harness and a Catchy. My favourite brands for bibs, bowls and accessories are Catchy, Greyfox, Moonkie and Konges Slojd. Adds up doesn’t it!!
