LIFE UPDATE
I’m writing to you this week from somewhere in the fjords of Northern Norway - it’s my final foray into Winter for the next six months (I hope!). I’m here on a press trip to visit some hotels, which is very spoiling. It’s total heaven to be surrounded by fresh air, wild nature and cosy corners. I’ve already been for two cold dips in the fjords, although I’ll be the first to admit that it’s definitely colder than I am used to!
I’ll keep it quick this week with The Weekly Edit of all my faves from the last seven days here - enjoy!
THE WEEKLY EDIT
A quick fire of what’s in my eyes, ears, mouth, mind etc.
EATING | A long time* fave Italian, Forza Win, have a temporary pop-up at Louie South London after their nearby restaurant in Camberwell recently flooded. We had the best meal there last week and the pop-up is on this week too. *In fact, the original Forza is where James and I went on our first dinner date almost 10 years ago!
BUYING | In preparation for Norway, which includes some active elements, I really wanted some good trainers. Sadly my Salomons didn’t work out (hip issues) so I ordered seven different pairs of trainers to tried and went with these Asics, which I’m loving (typically they were the most expensive option). They’re so comfortable and I adore the brown (strangely the product pics make them out to be khaki) | A little &Daughter cashmere ‘foulard’ to be work around my neck or as a little headscarf (as pictured above today in Norway!). We all know I love a head accessory.
BOOKING | Elayne Gullis for lymphatic drainage. A few of you asked me about this back when I wrote about Wellbeing and I’ve never done it consistently, which I’m trying this time round. I’ll keep you posted, but if you’re looking for someone experienced then Elayne is fab - I found her through Bryony Deery whose recommendations I trust and stomach I’d like to have.
WATCHING | I’m late to the party (about 13 years late in fact), but I have sailed through Homeland Season 1 this week. If you’re into thrilling and gripping spy/political series then you will love it (it’s similar to the film Zero Dark Thirty). It made my long travel here fly by
DOING | Pilates at Basic Space with Nat. I’m back into the routine of doing Nat’s classes at my local studio. They are seriously strong and sweaty and everyone that tries them loves them. You can do her classes online as an option too :)
PAINTING | Painting! We successfully re-painted our bedroom from a cold white to lovely warm one. Triple Warm White from Atelier Ellis in fact. It’s not dissimilar to the background colour of my newsletters if you’re reading on Substack!
VISITING | My alterations specialist - I’m such an advocate for getting your clothes altered to fit perfectly. I’m always having things taken in, taken up or adding straps etc. I can’t share my recommendation as she’s too busy, but most dry cleaners offer the service
LISTENING | I’m sure like many others I have spent the week listening to my favourites from Cowboy Carter. I made a little playlist of my curation below if you’ve found the whole album overwhelming. At least listen to the one with Miley - it’s giving real Fleetwood Mac vibes
Enjoy the weekend - it feels very spoiling to have another one so soon!
