I’m writing this newsletter on the plane. I should be asleep, but my sleeping pill has failed me and instead I’ve spent much of the overnight journey looking at all 265 looks from the Met Gala and compiling this newsletter. I spent an extra long weekend in Antigua with my husband, which was a glorious haze of crystal waters, swaying palm trees and a healthy dose of rum-based cocktails. I’ll share more including all of my outfits in the next newsletter! I’m praying that my film photos have come out OK as I dropped my camera and broke the close so it’s probably light leak central (sob).
I now have a 24 hour turnaround before heading to Ibiza for a couple of weeks, which I am *so* excited for. I’m going on a brand trip, yoga retreat and holiday with friends. I need to unpack, re-pack, do washing, view a house, get my nails done, buy a new film camera, have a therapy sesh and get all my life admin done.
Luckily I have my Assistant Lucy to help me and we did much of my Ibiza packing before I left to Antigua to make our lives easier. The thing that usually stresses me out most with packing is the weight restriction, but for two weeks I’m taking two bags to save myself an otherwise inevitable breakdown. I’m also obsessed with the combination of rolling clothes so you can see everything and using packing cubes for things like activewear and accessories - it’s a game changer!
Packing always challenges me to really think about what to take - what do I need and what would I miss if I didn’t have it? This leads me on to today’s newsletter - The Skincare Edit. Sadly I can’t take all these things with me when I travel, but I squeeze in as many as I can!
THE SKINCARE EDIT
When it comes to skincare, the dream to me is to have an even and radiant complexion, free from breakouts. It’s an eternal pursuit, but one I feel I am closer to than ever, especially now I have some colour on my face (SPF 50 has been worn of course).
I’ve been lucky enough to try countless products over the years so below is my guide to (in my opinion!) the best of the best -
CLEANSERS
I’m a double cleanse girly - first I use an oil or balm to melt away my makeup and then go in with a gel or cream texture, wiping off any excess with a flannel.
1. Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser, £79 | 2. TATCHA The Rice Wash, £41 | 3. Victoria Beckham Beauty The Daily Cleansing Protocol, £100 | 4. La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser, £16 | 5. REOME Three Suns Balm, £55 | 6. Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser, £79
LOTIONS + POTIONS
Whilst this list may look very high maintenance, on a day-to-day basis I use a priming serum and SPF in the mornings and a serum / retinol and lip balm at night. Sometimes I’ll need an extra dose of dewiness before putting on makeup, or a helping hand with my skin or eye-bags in the evenings, which is where my additional faves come in.
1. MECCA Cosmetica SPF50, £46 | 2. Rowse All-Day Hydration Serum, £63 | 3. Aesop Lucent Facial Concentrate, £95 | 4. CHANEL No.1 Revitalising Serum-In-Mist, £68 | 5. Summer Fridays Mint Lip Butter, £23 | 6. Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel-Creme, £56 | 7. Dr Dennis Gross Exfoliating Pads, £93 | 8. Rhode Glazing Milk, £30 | 9. Dr. Barbara Sturm Night Serum, £270 | 10. Sarah Chapman Platinum Peptide Serum, £185 | 11. Merit Instant Glow Serum, £40 | 12. REOME Active Recovery Broth, £75 | 13. Iraye Radiance Firming Serum, £100 | 14. Medik8 Crystal Retinol, £69
MASKS + TOOLS
I love to habit stack - using a mask whilst I meditate for example. I’ve also found such a difference in my skin since taking Lumity’s Morning & Night supplement - I don’t want to tempt fate, but I’ve had the same number of spots that I’d previously have in a week over the last three months!
1. Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask, £61 | 2. Lumity Morning & Night Supplements, £79 | 3. ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Patches, £59 | 4. Skinny Confidential Ice Roller, £56 | 5. Sarah Chapman Skinesis 3D Moisture Mask, £37.50 (down from £50!) | 6. Towel Wristbands, £5.29 | 7. Omorovicza Refining Facial Polisher, £62 | 8. Dr Dennis Gross LED Mask, £465 | 9. Mae Lindstrom Problem Solver Mask, £96
